My initial political affiliation was with the Democratic party. When
I went to work for South Central Bell In 1978, Jimmy Carter was
President. I think that was the year I became aware of the political
process. Growing up in the south in a heavily democratic Etowah county,
everyone seemed to be a Democrat. I guess the issue of abortion became
the pry bar that separated our friendship. The Republicans were
against it and Ronald Reagan was a great spokesman for the cause. I
became a Reagan conservative and haven’t missed the party of Jimmy
Carter.
Much has changed in the years since Reagan. Popularity breeds
contributions, so corporations have taken over the conservative
movement. The Republican Party now listens to corporate desires over
the citizens who put them in power. Bankers and foreign interest own
our government in such a way as to make “taxation without
representation” a valid cry again!
The Democratic Party is a complete lost cause. Their left-wing
fringe elements control most decisions. They also suffer from being
hooked on corporate and foreign money as well. I believe the Republican
Party is salvageable and our best opportunity for reform. The base is
still conservative, only misguided by media control. There is a strong
Christian element, something completely lacking on the Democratic side.
Republicans still oppose abortion, which is a growing concern among
younger voters.
The youth in our country may be our future salvation, they certainly
have a better view on environmentalism and corporations. The occupy
movement illustrated the opposition our youth have with corporate
greed. Government’s response to “occupy” was horrendous and shows the
extent of lost liberty in America. Corporate greed is “the beast” and
the beast doesn’t like opposition.
I was extremely disappointed with our last nominee, Senator John
McCain. I didn’t feel his voting record reflected the type man we
needed in the White House. It seemed to me that the media chose our
nominee and not the process. I voted for him but it was not with
conviction. I felt the party made a tremendous mistake and would
correct it over time. But alas, the nominees this year have been taken
out one by one. According to the media, who seems to be choosing
President Obama’s opponent, the crown belongs on Mitt Romney’s head.
Enter Ron Paul, the twelve term congressman from Texas. I’ve known
about Congressman Paul for a long time but didn’t know about him. I’ve
watched video after video of the man and he doesn’t contradict
himself. His voting record is outstandingly conservative. He makes so
much sense it scares me. I, myself, have been a victim of the media
keeping him hidden from view.
I understand the “Ron Paul Revolution” now. He is exactly what our
country needs to put us back on the right road. Our government has
become bloated, to the point it is a monster eating us out of home and
country. It’s on a leash, which is held by foreign interests. who have
no love for our constitution. Ron Paul loves our constitution and knows
how it’s been undermined! America, the time is now. If we don’t stand
up for Ron Paul our future looks dismal. We’re already speeding down
the highway to a police state. Liberty can only be seen in the rear
view mirror, and only with the magnified one.
Not many people know about the Battle of Kings Mountain during the
Revolutionary War. It was fought by southerners who voluntarily banded
together to fight for their way of life against British rule. These
“hillbillies” turned the tide of momentum toward the Patriots. It is
said that history has no other instance of a thousand frontiersmen
coming together as a volunteer army. They were men who knew what they
had to do to save their young country. We were not there in 1780 to
help, but we’re here in 2012 for practically that same battle. Our way
of life is threatened by debt, foreign wars, moral bankruptcy, corporate
greed, and corrupt politicians. The time is now, this is the place,
the fight is here.
You won’t hear about Ron Paul in the media. They don’t like him and
will fight against him with every tool they have. Like Orwell’s 1984
though, the power is with the proles. The power is with us, not them.
They know it and are tremendously afraid of a Paul election. Let’s do
it. Let’s elect Ron Paul as President of the United States of America.
Let’s restore liberty’s light for the world. Help us fight during the
Ron Paul revolution!
